All too often, it seems that as soon as one dispute is settled, another one immediately rises up in its place – over costs.

Despite an increasingly interventionist approach by the courts and diligent forecasting by legal professionals, these disputes can easily sour good working relationships between solicitors and their clients. They can also inflame resentments between parties just when they have finally, after what may have been a lengthy and expensive dispute, settled the substantive issue.

We believe that this is a waste of time, money, hard work and goodwill.

In our experience, many (if not most) disputes heading for detailed assessment or a Solicitors Act assessment can be resolved through mediation cheaply and quickly, often in as little as four hours.
