Peter Brewer

Peter Brewer is a practicing solicitor and Partner with the national firm HCR Law. He joined HCR Law in May 2025, having previously worked with Clarke Willmott as a Partner in their Commercial Litigation team since 2015. In Peter’s current role he leads HCR Law’s Dispute Resolution team in their Birmingham office.

Peter has over 20 years’ experience as a commercial litigation solicitor and has particular expertise in dealing with and resolving shareholder disputes. Peter also deals with contractual disputes, the enforcement of restrictive covenants, partnership disputes and banking litigation.

In his solicitors practice, Peter regularly litigates in the High Court and has had some of the judgements he has obtained reported in the law reports. Peter is recommended in the Legal 500 for Commercial Litigation in the West Midlands.

In the course of his career as a solicitor, Peter has attended a large number of mediations as an advocate.

Peter facilitates negotiation using probing questions to assist the parties in clarifying their positions with a view to assisting them reach a settlement.

Mediating on an unfair prejudice petition relating to the proper distribution of assets in a property development company
